National Statecraft Journal

About the Journal

Trade, tariffs and the instruments of national economic policy.

National Statecraft Journal examines trade policy as an instrument of national strategy: tariffs, export controls, customs enforcement, trade agreements and the legal authorities that make them possible.

Our articles explain the instrument as well as the action. That covers the statute that was used, how the mechanism works, who bears the effect, and what precedent says about where it leads. We write for importers, exporters, compliance professionals and readers who want the reasoning along with the headline.
